2012 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal Begins - Love one another with the Heart of Christ
Next weekend, each family in our parish will be asked to complete a Bishop’s Lenten Appeal (BLA) pledge form at Mass. If you have already donated through the mail or are not able to participate, there will be places to note that on the form. Please read the newsletter being distributed with today’s bulletin that contains detailed information about how the BLA funds are distributed throughout our diocese. Every pledge is important! Please prayerfully consider making a pledge to support the many programs and ministries that serve the people of our diocese.
K of C Sponsored Fish Fry
Every Friday during lent, except for Good Friday, different organizations of the parish will sponsor a Soup Supper in the cafeteria from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Please join them for a sacrificial meal of Fried Fish, Fries, coleslaw & hush puppies for a small donation, which will be used to assist individuals needing financial assistance in our area followed by Stations of the Cross at 6:30 PM in the church.
Car Raffle Update
Car raffle tickets have been mailed to each family. You should receive them soon! We are participating with All Saints; a more generous venture than purchasing a vehicle on your own and each purchaser will have a chance to win five cars! This makes “selling” at work or to family and friends more like an opportunity – just show them the ticket - it will sell itself!
Arlington Catholic Herald
The second collection next weekend will be for both the Debt Reduction as well as the Arlington Catholic Herald (the diocesan weekly newspaper). If you receive the Herald each week, please help the parish offset the annual diocesan assessment of $22 per subscription. Last year the diocesan assessment was $13, 552. If you do not receive the paper and would like to begin receiving it, please call the parish office.
